About this session

Have you considered whether people of all sizes can sit comfortably in your office chairs? Does your marketing and communications include visible representation of different genders, races, and abilities? What is the difference between neurodivergent and neurotypical? No need to fear if those questions send you into a tailspin!

Led by the Junior League of Nashville recent past Vice President for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging, this workshop is designed to alleviate fears and confusion in implementing equitable nonprofit policies and practices. In this rapidly changing world, it is critical for nonprofit organizations to prioritize the values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging for all people in work within the organization and community-facing work. This workshop will provide a foundational knowledge of inclusion areas, such as gender, age, ability, and language. Current terminology and recommended best practices for affirming, safe, and supportive environments will be examined, all in an accessible format. Attendees can expect to discuss commonly experienced issues and will walk away from the workshop with tried and true strategies for navigating complex, sensitive issues.
